Mexico is pulling out of the Miss Universe competition

It's official! Mexico is pulling out of the Miss Universe competition! Wendy Esparza announced minutes ago via the official NBM Instagram page that she will no longer represent her country in Miss Universe 2015 ! Mexico has been in the Miss universe competition for 48 years since its return back in 1966.

In those 48 years Mexico produced two stunning Miss Universes and established one of the strongest fanbases for Miss Universe. Lupita Jones, Miss Universe 1991 and director of the Nuestra Belleza Mexico pageant which selects the country's rep for Miss Universe, has decided not to send Wendy to the competition slated for later this year due to fear of attack and mistreatment in the aftermath of Donald Trump's comments about Mexico and its immigration policies with the US.
