Meet the new Miss Universe Italy 2016, Sophia Sergio. She has earned the right to represent Italy at the 2016 Miss Universe pageant next month in the Philippines.

Since 1951, the official winner of Miss Italy represented at the Miss Universe until 1999 with the exception of a few select years win which a delegate was selected by casting or an independent pageant. Sophia Sergio succeeds Miss Universe Italy 2015 Giada Pezzaioli.
