Brenda Castro is Miss Costa Rica 2015

Brenda Castro was crowned Miss Costa Rica 2015 at the end of the beauty pageant held on August 8, 2015 at Marco Picado Study. Unfortunately she will not compete at Miss Universe 2015 due to Costa Rica's withdrawal. Indeed, a few weeks ago Miss Costa Rica organizers announced they would not be sending a representative to the Miss Universe 2015 contest in light of “xenophobic” comments made about Mexicans by the franchise’s owner, Donald Trump, despite a 40-year-long relationship with the pageant.

Costa Rica has participated at Miss Universe since 1954 and has sent 56 representatives in the pageant’s 60-year history. The event has been broadcast by Teletica since 1960. Castro succeeds to Miss Costa Rica 2014 Karina Ramos.

In Miss Universe 2014 Karina Ramos gave her best at the pageant but she failed to place. Brenda will not have the opportunity to compete at the prestigious pageant. Many latin countries like Nicaragua, Panama, Mexico also declared their intention to boycott Miss Universe 2015-16 Pageant.
