Oxana Fedorova was the last Miss Universe from Europe, 12 years ago. But we don't give up the hope that one day a European girl will rock the stage again.

In 2002, Oxana Fedorova became the first woman from Russia to win Miss Universe. In 1999, started to participate in beauty pageants with Miss St. Petersburg 1999; in 2001 she became Miss Russia but declined to go to the 2001 Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico. In 2002, she finally accepted to be the Russian Ambassador. Fedorova won both the swimsuit and evening gown competitions by large margins over the other nine semi-finalists. Oxana Fedorova was dethroned four months after her crowning for failing in her duties. However, rumors spread that the pageant winner lost her crown owing to a secret marriage and pregnancy. Justine Pasek, her first runner-up of Panama replaced her.
