Miss Alabama 2016 is Hayley Barber

Hayley Barber was crowned Miss Alabama 2016 at Samford University's Wright Center. She succeeds Meg McGuffin of Ozark. McGuffin served as Alabama's representative at the Miss America 2016 pageant in Atlantic City, she was named fourth runner-up to Betty Cantrell and awarded a $10,000 scholarship prize.

Miss Alabamas have performed strongly at the Miss America pageant, particularly in the early 21st century, when the state produced their third Miss America, a first runner-up, a second runner-up, a fourth runner-up, two semi-finalists, and one quarter-finalist.
