You will compete at the Miss CA USA Pageant, how will you prepare the contest ? What unique characteristics would you say you bring to the competition?
I will prepare for it casually by nurturing my mind with books I enjoy, some being by my favorite author (Ernest Holmes), eating foods that give me brain power, and overall keep a healthy balance between my social life and volunteer work.
My friends and family would say that I’m bubbly and personable and I could relate to those two characteristics because I think it’s important to always keep your playfulness and get to know others by interacting with them.
What inspired you to walk on the course of beauty pageants?
Growing up, my celebrity icons were Brittney Spears and Mary Kate & Ashely Olsen. I remember watching them and loving their self confidence and energy! In addition to that, I admire everything the pageant industry promotes for young woman, I've been passionate about the industry for a long while and became inspired by watching many Miss pageants.
I plan on continuing my journey with hopes of gaining more self confidence, leadership experience, and a sense of fulfillment knowing that I may have inspired another queen to fulfill their dreams.
Many misses have said that their dream since a child was to participate in a pageant as prestigious as Miss World (or Miss Universe). It this your case ? And if so, why ?
To walk in a pageant as big as Miss World or Miss Universe would not only be an honor, but a dream come true. The preparation you must do, and the dedication you must make would be an incomparable accomplishment to fulfill.
Social media seem to play a major role in pageantry nowadays. Do you think this is advantageous to you? Why or why not?
Social media websites have taken a huge play in many people’s lives. Myself included. Although I’m very active in the instagram guru, Sometimes, I find myself caught up in the moment and I forget to post.
Did you face any moment of disappointment with yourself during the pageant journey, and how did you overcome it?
After walking in the Miss Pacific Coast USA pageant I have to admit, I was a bit devastated not placing in top five. After going backstage and talking to former Miss Sacramento valley, Brooklyn Lowrey, our conversation turned my frown upside down and gave me a change of mindset.
Who is your ideal beauty queen and how has she helped you to evolve as a beauty queen?
My ideal queen would without a doubt be my mom. I’ve seen her work through so many hardships while keeping food on the table, a roof over our head and always being there for me in my time of need..
Thanks to the beautiful Somaia for the interview. Pageants News wishes you all the very best for Miss CA USA pageant.
