Brown will have the opportunity to compete at the 2016 Miss USA Pageant where she hopes to be crowned by the reigning Miss USA Olivia Jordan from Oklahoma. The winner of Miss USA 2016 will go on to represent the United States in the Miss Universe competition.
At the same event was crowned a new Miss Alabama Teen USA, Erin Snow.
Alabama is one of the more successful and (recently) consistent states at the Miss USA Pageant. Even if they have had a number of runners-up, finalists and semi-finalists, Alabama only had one Miss USA. She was Sylvia Hitchcock, Miss USA 1967. In July 1967 Sylvia became the first Miss USA to win the Miss Universe title since Linda Bement in 1960. She passed away in Lake Wales, FL at age 69, Sunday, August 16, 2015, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
The new duo!
Peyton succeeds Miss Alabama USA 2015 – Madison Guthrie of Hoover, she represented Alabama at Miss USA 2015 in Baton Rouge on July 12th where she competed to succeed Miss USA 2014, Nia Sanchez of Nevada, eventually finishing in the Top 11.
