Mrs Canada Globe Holly Weselowski Highlights Women’s Empowerment As A Top Priority

Winning the title doesn’t just mean that you get to walk around looking pretty with a crown on your head (although, the crown is a nice perk). Winning the title is so much more than that.

Contrary to popular belief, beauty pageants do not necessarily prioritise only physical appearances but also empower women. The gorgeous Holly Legge, who placed 6th at Mrs Globe in China this past December, has been coaching and managing women before she joined pageantry - "I will continue to empower and inspire women to be the best versions of themselves long after as well. Pageantry gives me a really large platform to stand on and I feel like it allows me to reach further and it gives me strength in myself when I am walking women through hard situations" - she explained.

Did you know ? The Mrs Canada Globe title is a prestigious title held by a woman who embodies professionalism, sophistication and beauty. It does not discriminate against age or your relationship status.

Here we bring you the untold facts about Holly’s life and also her ideas, objectives and opinions… Have a look!

What inspired you to walk on the course of beauty pageants?

I have always valued inspiring and motivating other women and participated in bodybuilding competitions in the past I was looking to take a different route, one which highlighted other components of being a woman. I wanted to join a pageant that focused on beauty but also on her personality. Mrs. Canada Globe and Mrs. Globe have a personality profile where the judges get to know more about what type of person you are. Recently the Mrs. Canada Globe employed a ‘blind’ judge this year. It showcased the organization truly values beauty in not just your physical appearance but also internally as well.

Did you ever compete in the "Miss" division ?

No, although I had thought of it I felt the ‘Mrs’ component was a more mature brand and I wanted to have the sophistication the Mrs brand brings to the woman!

Tell me something about yourself and your work. What do you actually do, and have done in the past?

I by trade am a registered nurse, before that I worked as a paramedic for some time, I have been in health care for 10 years now! I also am a life coach and help women not only lose weight but I focus my teaching on empowering women to take control of their lives and to better themselves every day. Giving them tools to feel better about themselves internally allows them to also benefit physically. Becoming more internally confident always has positive side effects and many find their relationships in life become more positive, their job satisfaction increases and their physical being starts to glow as well!

Social media seem to play a major role in pageantry nowadays. Do you think this is advantageous to you? Why or why not?

Yes, I find it very advantageous, I have been a social butterfly my whole life. Networking and utilizing my platform on social media to reach women across the globe is a very humbling experience. I find my platform to not only showcase beauty but it takes people through my life, what I do on a daily basis, how I feel at different intervals in my life and how I prepare for events such as a pageant!

Did you face any moment of disappointment with yourself during the pageant journey, and how did you overcome it?

To be honest, there were very few disappointing moments during my journey. I am no stranger to getting on stage and I find that the preparation for any competition to be the absolute best part. I find each time I train my mind and body for something so important that I learn more about my self and that in itself is something I hold close to my heart. The experience on stage and the in – the – moment pageant times (the makeup, the events, the site seeing and appearances) are the moments I feel the least stressed the most excited about. Its what I look forward to and what I work towards throughout the ‘season’. It is as much as a sport to me as football might be a sport to someone else, I train hard, I plan appropriately and I ensure my ‘head is in the game’ so I bring a package that is appropriate, well thought out and one that will be received positively!

World Class Beauty Queen Magazine

We’ve all seen the stereotypical portrayals of pageant contestants, a la Miss Congeniality, spreading peace, love and beauty throughout the world. How do you think you'll make a difference ?

I think I have made a difference already! I have been coaching and managing women before I joined pagneatry and I will continue to empower and inspire women to be the best versions of themselves long after as well. Pageantry gives me a really large platform to stand on and I feel like it allows me to reach further and it gives me strength in myself when I am walking women through hard situations.

What would you advise any young girl out there who has a dream of being a queen one day?

That it is possible! Although truly, in my heart I believe every woman is a queen in her own right, whether it comes with a crown or not. Being a wife, a career driven woman, a mother or all of these all deserves its own crown!

Who is your ideal beauty queen and why?

Dr Tracy Kemble! She not only created the organization I stand with (Mrs. Globe & Mrs. Canada Globe) but she has created numerous platforms for women across the world, and has created the WIN foundation (The Women in Need foundation) to which focuses on women and children who have fallen victim to domestic violence, a cause that I believe in wholeheartedly. Shes of course beautiful inside and out and is a women I look up to in life!
