You will compete at the Texas USA Pageant. How will you prepare for the contest?
There are various phases of competition, each with their own preparations. But, for me, the main thing I am focusing on now is being confident in what I’m bringing to the organization and having that exude on stage.
What does it feel like to be a beauty queen and wear a crown?
It is such a privilege to be a titleholder; it’s a responsibility not to be taken lightly. Miss Texas USA, or any titleholder, is often a role model to many. At the same time, pageant girls tend to receive a lot of criticism. Being a “beauty queen” feels fantastic because it means breaking stereotypes, leading by example, and positively impacting the lives of others.
What would you advise any young girl out there who has a dream of being a queen one day?
One of the first questions I ask other contestants is “Have you competed before?” I always want to know who is a total newbie so I can try to ensure they have the best experience possible. Pageants have been such a positive influence on my life and I want to make sure others walk away feeling like it was a worthwhile, rewarding experience for them. So to young girls out there wishing to compete in pageantry, my advice is to find a solid support system! Pageants are not for the faint of heart. Honestly, one of the most important attributes a contestant should have is resilience. Make sure you know why you want to compete, what you hope to get out of the experience/title, and if you try it once and love it – keep going! Your support system will be there to remind you of your humble roots, potential successes, and encourage you to remain steadfast in pursuit of your goals. To those in my support system – THANK YOU! I love you all dearly.

Your favorite beauty queen?
My favorites are Pia Wurtzbach (Miss Universe 2015) and Kandace Krueger (Miss Texas USA and Miss USA 2001). I adore Pia for her personality and appreciate how she made the MUO motto her own as “confidently beautiful with a heart.” This reflects her sweet nature and humanitarian efforts. She handled the crowning mix-up with such grace and I feel like she truly cherished her reign that much more. Kandace, on the other hand, I admire for her resilience. If you are not familiar with her pageant history, I suggest looking into it. You can even find videos of her crowning moments -- I love watching the one of her winning Miss Texas USA! I feel that both of these women positively represented pageantry and served as excellent role models. I also really love Gracie Lou Freebush, Sandra Bullock's character in "Miss Congeniality." :)
Thanks to the beautiful Hannah for the interview. Pageants News wishes you all the very best for Miss Texas USA pageant.
