2018 Miss Florida Teen USA Candidate Olivia Fonville Turns Less Fortunate Girls Into Beauty Queens

Pageantry has taught her to be respectful and represent herself as a young, confident, and strong girl. Being apart of a beauty contest is a real boost to help spread your platform and awareness to other people. The beautiful Olivia Fonville, who'll be competing for the crown of Miss Florida Teen USA later this year, is the founder of Livie's closet. She plans on giving out dresses to those less fortunate - "I want a girl to put on one of my dresses I give to her and feel like she’s the beauty queen. With the Stay Gorgeous Girl’s organization we provide a day for girls to come and know that they are beautiful in their own skin, and teach them how to become more confident so they can slay the world!" - she explained.

Olivia is 17 years old and a senior in high school. She has been modeling for two years now. She has always been tall and athletic, that's why volleyball was a big part of her life. This year she will represent her home town, Ponte Vedra Beach. In preparing for this contest she has been following a healthy meal plan, workouts twice a day, along with yoga and pilates - "Some days it is hard to get up and work out, or give up that chocolate cake, but then I think of my the competition and I persevere and keep working so that I may achieve my goals" she said.

The state of Florida has never won the crown of Miss Teen USA but they tie with Illinois for most Miss Photogenic awards. These were won in a successive streak from 1996-1998. Miss Florida Teen USA and Miss Teen USA's Miss Photogenic in 1997, Cristin Duren, later became Miss Florida USA 2006 and 2004 titleholder Anastagia Pierre was later Miss Florida USA 2009. 1996 winner Kelly Gaudet later won the Miss Florida 2001 title and competed at Miss America.

What unique characteristics would you say you bring to the competition?

I believe a unique characteristic I bring to this competition is integrity. Integrity by definition is, the condition of being unified, unimpaired, or sound in construction. I want to be someone who doesn’t waver their morals just so they may gain approval or something to benefit themselves. I am a strong independent teenage girl who has beliefs and will stand up for what is right. I believe that in having the Miss Florida Teen USA title you need to have integrity. I know that this is a quality I possess, and with it I will not just go far in this competition, but also in life.

Social media seem to play a major role in pageantry nowadays. Do you think this is advantageous to you? Why or why not?

Social Media is definitely an advantage to anyone who is trying to market something/someone in the 21st century. It is what everyone goes on to see the latest scoop, or gain more information about a person, or an idea. Social Media is something that may be used for good, or for bad. In my case I use my social media for good and to market my modeling, my platform, and to just share memories I make with family and friends. I can get a lot of exposure to my platform Livie’s Closet through social media. It is definitely advantageous for me!

What would you advise any young girl out there who has a dream of being a queen one day?

To any young girl who has a dream of being a queen one day I say there is nothing that is impossible with God. Just two years ago I never would’ve imagined the things I’ve accomplished so far in my modeling career and I thank my mom and mostly God for never letting me quit through the hard times. Modeling has always been my dream, and yes you do have to work hard every day at it but if it is what you really love then all the blood, sweat, and tears are worth it in the end. Never give up on your dreams, never let people tell you that you can’t, because even the word impossible says “I’m possible”.

Thanks to the beautiful Olivia for the interview. Pageants News wishes you all the very best for Miss Florida Teen USA pageant.
