Beauty Queen Trisha Batra wants to make a positive impact in the pageant world

Beauty Queen Trisha Batra would like to use her voice to raise awareness for the severe environmental problems. As Miss California Earth United States she has a strong passion for teaching, and reaching out to local elementary schools has started a chain reaction of caring for our environment. Her platform involves combatting greenhouse emissions in order to discuss the greatest environmental issue, climate change.

Trisha is currently studying B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology. In 2017, she won Miss Teen India America and advocated for women who have suffered through Domestic Violence.

She will have the opportunity to represent the state of California at the 2017 Miss Earth United States Pageant on August 5 in Washington, D.C. The current titleholder is Corrin Stellakis of New York, who was crowned on August 1, 2016 by Brittany Ann Payne, the current Miss Earth-Water 2015. The very first American delegate for Miss Earth is Abigail Royce of California. She competed in 2001 where she landed as one of the Top 10 semifinalists.

I had the opportunity to recently interview the beautiful Trisha Batra, I appreciate her sharing her story. I hope you will enjoy this interview!

You will represent the state of California at Miss Earth U.S. how will you prepare for the pageant?

The Miss Earth United States pageant mission statement is “beauties for a cause.” Miss Earth United states is not just a beauty queen, but a spokeswoman who connects with vast individuals from different countries by raising awareness for the severe environmental problems. In preparation for the pageant, I have been following the mission statement by connecting with local communities about my platform. Therefore, I have arranged youth educational programs that teaches our upcoming generation how important it is to raise environmental awareness and to keep our Mother Earth clean and pristine.

As Miss California Earth United States I have a strong passion for teaching, and reaching out to local elementary schools has started a chain reaction of caring for our environment. I strongly believe that connecting with the people around you can lead to greater impact, and it’s all through education. Not only have I been raising awareness about my platform, but I have been educating myself on our current environmental problems.

As Miss Earth United States it’s not only important to know about everyday current events, but on our recent environmental issues as well. By looking through environmental news, I have been able to translate that content to my youth educational programs and discuss what solutions we can implement to combat these environmental issues.

How are you gearing yourself up for the environmental programs introduced under Miss Earth Pageant?

I have been keeping up with environmental activists in order to gear myself up for the environmental programs introduced under Miss Earth United States. Not only have I been educating myself about our current environmental problems, but I’ve been following famous environmental activists to learn more about the different solutions we should implement to in order to keep our environment sustainable. For example, Leonardo DiCaprio is a great environmental activist to follow, and by learning about his climate change campaigns it led me to my platform. I realized that climate change is mainly man caused. This led me to create my educational programs, and advocate that we can reduce the severity of climate change if we work together.

You choose to compete to Miss Earth US., why this pageant instead of Miss USA or Miss America?

I chose Miss Earth United States, because the Miss Earth’s platform is the most relevant to today’s time. It’s important to raise environmental awareness as issues increase in producing plastic goods, consistent deforestation, and continuation of oil drilling. We want the world to be a better place for the upcoming generations, and put an end to the suffering to our planet.

What would you advise any young girl out there who has a dream of being a queen one day?

Life is too short. If you have a dream chase it! There will always be people around you that will question if you will ever make it, and the key is to ignore them. If you let other people’s negative energy get the hold of you, your dreams will always remain dreams. With every dream, find your purpose or goal that will motivate you to achieve that dream. As a young girl I looked up to beauty queens as superheroes because they had the drive to make the world a better place for everyone. With that said, that is my purpose in trying my hardest at the Miss Earth United States pageant. I want to make a difference, and with that goal I have no doubt that one day I will achieve my dream to become a national titleholder.

Did you face any moment of disappointment with yourself during the pageant journey, and how did you overcome it?

There will always be disappointments through every pageant journey, but I try to focus on what I’ve accomplished. Throughout this journey my main concern was if I was trying my best; whether it was eating healthy, focusing on my walk, or preparing for my interview. I want to leave the Miss Earth United States pageant proud and without any regrets.

Thanks to the beautiful Trisha for the interview. Pageants News wishes you all the very best for Miss Earth United States 2017 pageant.
