Miss Georgia 2016 is Patricia Ford

Miss Capital City Patricia Ford of John's Creek was crowned Miss Georgia 2016 at the RiverCenter of the Performing Arts. She will have the opportunity to represent her state at Miss America 2017 later this year. The 2017 Miss America Pageant will be held at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on Sunday, September 11, 2016.

“It’s an honor to represent the state of Georgia and to represent our state at the national level in September,” said Ford in an interview with the Ledger-Enquirer after the competition. “It’s something I’m really looking forward to. ...I’ll work hard and do everything that I can to make our state proud and to be a gracious loving and serving Miss Georgia for the next 365 days.”

Patricia Ford’s platform issue is promoting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Did you know this ? Georgia has won the Miss America crown twice--Lakeland, Florida native Neva Jane Langley who won the 1953 Miss America title, and in 2015, when Baciliky "Betty" Andris Cantrell of Warner Robins was named Miss America 2016, making her the first native-born Miss Georgia to hold the Miss America title.
