The pageant was held in New Jersey since 1921 before moving to Las Vegas in 2006. It returned to its home city in 2013.
According to PressOfAtlanticCity, this year’s pageant comes at a crucial time for Atlantic City, and groups like the Atlantic City Alliance which promotes many of the city’s events. The Atlantic City Airshow, called Thunder Over the Boardwalk, will soar over the skyline Sept. 2. Both events ensure a strong end to the summer, said Jeff Guaracino, executive director of the alliance.
Miss America VS Miss USA
Miss USA 2015 will be held on July 12, 2015 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Both Pageants are different, when you win the Miss USA Pageant; you win the right to represent your country at the prestigious Miss Universe Pageant while the Miss America Winner doesn't compete at International Pageants.
Miss USA began in 1952 and the owner is Donald Trump. Miss America is mostly known for its scholarships and with good reason. The competition was founded as a scholarship program, unlike Miss USA, which was founded as by Catalina Swimsuits as part of a promotional tool.
