Miss Universo

Exclusive Interview with Miss Universe 2015, Pia Wurtzbach

She's the most popular Miss Universe ever. I had the opportunity to interview the gorgeous Pia Wurtzbach on her new life and she's basically done everything a Miss Universe winner could ask for.

She's starred in commercials, she's thrown the first pitch at a Mets game, and she's judged many other pageants (including the Miss Binibining Pilipinas competition she won to qualify for the Miss Universe pageant), as well as appeared as a guest judge on Asia's Next Top Model. On the philanthropic side of things, she's provided earthquake relief in Ecuador, and she even attended a UN summit on HIV/AIDS, on behalf of the Miss Universe organization and the Philippines (HIV/AIDS was her major platform as part of the pageant).

I would like to thanks Pia's manager, Jonas Gaffud for the opportunity! I hope you will enjoy it.

Is there anything else that you want to conquer after conquering the universe?

I'd like to go back into hosting, acting and modeling. it's something that I've been doing for years and I can't imagine myself doing anything else.

What was your most memorable moment from your reign ? What are you most proud of ?

The homecoming parade. I didn't get a full realization of the impact of miss universe until I actually came home to see it for myself. its so surreal. it still gives me goosebumps up to this day.

Tell us about your career since you crowned the new Miss Universe 2016. What is your number one goal for this year?

It was definitely the most memorable year. it was more than expected. my main goal was just to be real and show people who i really am. I don't put up a beauty queen front. how I am on camera is how I am in real life.

What do you think about the reign of Iris Mittenaere ?

Every reign of a Miss Universe is different. I think iris is doing great. From what I heard from MUO she's a true professional and she's very nice. The. judges picked the right winner that night.

Many misses have said that their dream since a child was to participate in a pageant as prestigious as Miss Universe. Was this your case? And if so, why?

Yes of course. I grew up watching Miss Universe with my mom. And in the Philippines we love beauty pageants and admire beauty queens and it was the same for me. I was also a big fan of the pageant before I eventually joined. I think until now I still am a fan.

You have 4.5Million Followers on Instagram. What does it feel like to be a role model for so many people ? Do you feel under pressure ? Do you miss your anonymity sometimes ?

I don't feel any pressure. I try to keep my feed as natural and candid as possible. I am aware that I have a bigger audience now but I don't let it get in the way of the transparency of my post. Iam still mindful but I always keep it real.

If there were no rules in your life for one day and you could be outrageous, what would you do?

Id eat everything in sight with no regrets.

Tell us something that most people don’t know about you?

That in my spare time I love playing video games. That's something you wouldn't expect from a beauty queen.

Who's the woman you admire most ?

I don't have a specific woman in mind. I try not to copy other people. I find qualities that I admire in certain women but I don't copy them.

What has been the biggest challenge you have faced in your life ?

Taking care of my family when I was 11 years old and joining Bb Pilipinas multiple times to eventually get into Miss Universe.

Where do we hope to see you In the next 10 years?

I'd like to be surprised myself. I definitely have. lot of things planned but I also wanna keep the element of surprise.

Any message for your fans on Pageants News ?

Thank you so much for your continued love and support. I am so happy to feel the love of all the pageant fans out there. Mabuhay!
