A 19-year-old Kennesaw State University student is the new Miss Georgia.
Alyssa Beasley, of Brunswick, walked away with much more new hardware than a new crown and sash. Competing as Miss Southeast Georgia, she won the overall talent, evening gown and swimsuit awards, plus the two preliminary awards she won earlier this week.
Did you know this ? Georgia has won the Miss America crown twice--Lakeland, Florida native Neva Jane Langley who won the 1953 Miss America title, and in 2015, when Baciliky "Betty" Andris Cantrell of Warner Robins was named Miss America 2016, making her the first native-born Miss Georgia to hold the Miss America title.
