Atalecia Anderson Brings Her Humorous And Outgoing Spirit To The 2018 Miss Georgia USA Competition

Self confidence, contrary to popular belief, isn’t always bestowed at birth; it can be learned. Have you ever seen a child taking their first faltering steps? Despite falling down a thousand times, within a short space of time they are walking all over the place, then running, dancing and jumping. In the same way we can build a set of skills that enable us to feel better about ourselves.

The beautiful Atalecia Anderson, who'll be competing for the crown of Miss Georgia USA 2018 in a few weeks, has learned to represent herself as a confident and strong woman, and she would like to encourage young girls to follow their dreams - "There is nothing in this world that is out of your reach. If you put your mind to it you can achieve anything, especially the crown!"

"When I was younger I've always felt beautiful on the inside and I've carried that confidence throughout the duration of my life! My nickname is "Addy" and I've always compared myself to Addy Walker the American Girl Doll. She was brave, smart and beautiful and that's how I've always believed myself to be. I wanted to be just like her! - she explained.

If she wins the crown Atalecia will have the opportunity to represent her state in Miss USA 2018. The current titleholder is DeAnna Johnson of Hazlehurst who was previously a contestant on Season 8 of The Voice. The pageant is directed by Miss Tennessee USA 1989, Kim Greenwood. The state of Georgia has never won the Miss USA Pageant, however they almost won the crown when Emanii Davis and Tiana Griggs made the Top 3 in 2016 and 2014.

I had the opportunity to interview Atalecia on her preparation for the Miss Georgia USA Contest. Lets know a little more about this beautiful woman through this interview!

You will compete at the Miss Georgia USA Pageant, how will you prepare the contest ? What unique characteristics would you say you bring to the competition?

I have been preparing for the contest by exercising and eating well balanced meals. It gives me the energy and clarity to focus and balance my work life, personal life and pageant life! I am unique as a whole but I can definitely say my humorous and outgoing spirit will be brought to this competition!

Social media seem to play a major role in pageantry nowadays. Do you think this is advantageous to you? Why or why not?

Absolutely! I feel like it gives Pageant girls the opportunity to show the world who we really are and that there is more to us than just a pretty face! Social media is a form of expression and although you can be anything or anyone you can also just be yourself and people accept you for it. It has helped me to be able to reach out to extended family and long time friends to even show them that I am apart of the Miss Georgia USA pageant and they were able to support me because of it!

We’ve all seen the stereotypical portrayals of pageant contestants, a la Miss Congeniality, spreading peace, love and beauty throughout the world. How do you think you'll make a difference ?

I feel like my answer would be a stereotypical pageant answer so I'll just say I can show you how I'll make a difference better than I can tell you!

Who is your ideal beauty queen and how has she helped you to evolve as a beauty queen?

I have too many to choose from! But I can honestly say that the former Miss USA Deshauna Barber has truly been an inspiration. She has definitely displayed that being your authentic self is enough in the pageant world and that you should hold true to that and I respect that whole heartedly.
