You will compete at the Miss Louisiana Teen USA Pageant, how will you prepare the contest ? What unique characteristics would you say you bring to the competition?
During preparation of Miss Louisiana Teen USA, I workout 4 days a week, meal prep, practice makeup, hair and walking daily, and also mentally prepare for interview. Throughout the year I drove four hours to meet with Danielle at The Perfect Face. Driving 4 hours for makeup lessons isn't a big deal when you're learning from the best!
My unique characteristics I am bringing to the competition are being a model and a pageant girl at the same time. To be a model you have to be plain and simple, meaning no makeup and everyday clothing. To be a pageant girl yo have to wear lots of makeup and dress up in many different wardrobes. I think one of my unique characteristics is having the qualities of both.
What inspired you to walk on the course of beauty pageants?
My sweet grandma actually asked me if I wanted to compete in a pageant a few years ago. It was a small local pageant, and I did not win but my love for pageants grew from that day forward. I have done several prelims for Miss LA Teen Usa and decided to compete for Miss Louisiana Teen USA last year and can't wait to compete again.
What do you expect to gain by competing in pageantry?
I expect to gain new friends, because I have already gained so many throughout this journey and I also want build skills that will help me in different aspects of life.
Many misses have said that their dream since a child was to participate in a pageant as prestigious as Miss World (or Miss Universe). It this your case ? And if so, why ?
Yes, I have watched Miss Louisiana USA and Miss Teen USA since I was nince. I started doing pageants when I was twelve and have loved them ever since. My goal is to be Miss Teen USA and represent our country while doing mission trips around the world.
Social media seem to play a major role in pageantry nowadays. Do you think this is advantageous to you? Why or why not?
I personally think that social media is an advantage to pageantry because I can post pictures and show my life behind the scenes. Being a pageant girl is not always as glamorous as it seems. It's a lot of hard work and dedication to participate in a state/national pageant. I also love knowing that at any moment a judge can see what I do in my personal life and hope they enjoy watching. It allows your profilte sheet come to life through pictures.

Did you face any moment of disappointment with yourself during the pageant journey, and how did you overcome it?
Well, not placing in the top fifteen my first year was a dissapointment in itself, but I learned that is not why I do pageants. I do them to make friends, and have fun. Having a pageant experience is one thing that I hope every young girls gets to experience.
What would you advise any young girl out there who has a dream of being a queen one day?
I would tell her to keep on following her dreams. I never thought I would be competing in a state pageant, but here I am competing for my second year in a row.
Who is your ideal beauty queen and how has she helped you to evolve as a beauty queen?
Deshauna Barber is definitely my ideal beauty queen. She is the perfect representation of what a queen should be! She is funny, hard working, represents our country in the military, very smart, and also has a bubbly and nice personality. I am so honoret to have met her at the beginning of this year and so fortunate to have her as my motivational coach.
Thanks to the beautiful Gracie for the interview. Pageants News wishes you all the very best for Miss Louisiana Teen USA pageant.
