From Beauty Pageants to the startup world : Meet the inspiring Jenny Valle

Throughout the past competitions, many beauty queens have gone on to have successful careers — journalists such as Oprah Winfrey or Diane Sawyer, Oscar winners like Halle Berry and actresses like Sharon Stone, Eva Longoria, Priyanka Chopra or recently the famous Wonder Woman, Gal Gadot.

Jenny Valle, 26, is a pageant queen turned Illinois businesswoman. The reigning Miss Globe Northern Illinois is proof that pageant contestants have beauty and brains, and remains supportive of the camraderie and confidence the pageant system breeds within young women.

Jenny opened her own business on the side architecture/design last year. She has done everything from construction, architecture, and design related occupations since she started college. She also teaches once a year and gives community classes for individuals that want to get back into the job market - " I highly enjoy teaching this class because I have a passion for resume writing, and I enjoy giving individuals that drive they need to excel and get back in the workforce. Many of my students backgrounds are retired, stay at home moms, or students that either want to get back to work or don't know where to start." she explained.

Jenny Valle will have the opportunity to represent the state of Illinois at the 2017 Miss Globe United States Pageant later this year. Her dedication and hard work towards her goals, and her success which has been a result of her ambitions and efforts, will surely take her long on the road of victory

You won the title of Miss Globe Northern IL. What does it entail ?

The title of Miss Globe Northern Illinois entails being a positive role model making a difference in your community, making appearances and volunteering for the platforms that matter to you. It also means carrying the crown and the system in a positive and meaningful way, where other girls can look up to you as an inspiring influence.

What inspired you to walk on the course of beauty pageants?

The main take away that inspired me to do beauty pageants was the comradere among the girls. Surrounding myself amongst positive role models who strive to make a difference, but also the ability to do something new. As cliche as it might sound we only have one life to live. I wanted to experience something new, so that I wouldn't have to contemplate when I was older and say "I wish I would have done that."

What does it feel like to be a beauty queen and wear a crown?

Being a beauty queen is an amazing feeling, the crown let's me do a lot of charity and philanthropic work. It allows me to spread my voice even further because I am part of an amazing system. I am able to be a voice of inspiration for young women while helping out in my community.

The crown has given me many opportunities that would not have been possible to do, and I am so thankful to my system for allowing me to be a delegate and a representative of the crown.

What would you advise any young girl out there who has a dream of being a queen one day?

I would say to all those young girls that I was in your shoes once, I competed in three pageants and did not place in any of them. However I never let that aspect get me down. It definitely does not come easy you have to put in the work in order to see results. If you lose the first time don't be discouraged we have to learn and grow, nothing in life comes easy and every moment is a growing experience. Work hard and your goals will unfold.

Some people say that beauty pageants are degrading to women, same with fashion magazines. How can you convince them that they’re wrong?

To all the naysayers that say beauty pageants or fashion magazines are degrading I say this; beauty pageants allow us to break out of a mold to become better individuals both physically and mentally. We prepare rigorously to compete for something that is much more than a crown it gives us a voice in the community and around the world to be heard on the subjects that matter to us the most and that we are striving to make an impact for.

Who is your favorite beauty queen?

My favorite beauty queen is Pia Wurtzbach she carried the crown with such poise. She is also very generous, kind hearted, and humble. All amazing qualities of a beauty queen.

Thanks to the beautiful Jenny for the interview. Pageants News wishes you all the very best for Miss Globe USA pageant.
