The Miss America's Outstanding Teen Pageant is a sister company to the Miss America Organization, and it aims to "promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement for America's teens." More than $175,000 in scholarship grants were distributed amongst the 52 contestants in the pageant, with a $30,000 scholarship being awarded to the winner. Contestants are ages 13-17 years old. The first competition was held in August 2005.
The Miss Universe Organization also has a teen pageant with Miss Teen USA, the winner lives in New York with Miss USA and Miss Universe, she travels the country to attend events and to work for charities. The current titleholder is K.Lee Graham from South Carolina.

Who is Allie Nault ?
Nault's pageant platform was "Inspiring Action Against Pediatric Cancer." She will spend her year in New York advocating for. Her pageant talent were dancing and baton twirling. She has performed more than 1,200 hours of community service, according to New Hampshire pageant officials, including work with New Horizons Soup Kitchen, the Derry Caregivers, the Gilford Youth Center, the Gilford Library, the New Hampshire Heart Associaton, the New Hampshire Brain Injury Association, the Relay for Life, and the Special Olympics. She is a student at Gilford High School.
