Congratulations on being one of the finalists of Miss Universe Great Britain this year. How do you feel?
Thank you so much, I am over the moon and feel so grateful for this amazing opportunity. This is the first pageant I've done so to get this far means a lot to me and I can't wait for the competition now. The fact aswell that it's not only one of the biggest pageants in the world but to work alongside two incredible charities The Strong Bones Children's Hospital and Sheroes Hangout in India is incredible to be doing something for such good causes.
Tell me something about yourself and your work. What do you actually do, and have done in the past?
I absolutely love what I do, I'm a professional singer dancer and actress. I trained for 1 year at Italia conti and then 3 years at the Urdang academy both in musical theatre. In my final year I auditioned for various jobs, which was hard as rejection does become second nature in this industry. However I didn't give up and every knock back made me stronger until I finally got to where I wanted to be. I have just returned home from the cruise ship I was working on P&O Ventura where I was a lead vocalist for 6 months. It was an amazing opportunity as I got to see some incredible places, meet some inspirational people and grow into the person I am today.
We are all unique so what would you say is something that makes you stand out from the other contestants?
I am lucky enough to have had a unique background in performing arts where I have been blessed with 4 years experience training at 2 of the UK's most prestigious schools. This makes me unique as I am now in a position where I have utilized these skills and will be hosting an evening of singing and entertainment at the end of June to raise money for Strong Bones Children's Trust. This i believe will make me stand out from the other contestants in the competition because I am using the unique tools I have trained for years to do good. For me it is all about making a difference and doing something that could potentially save a childs life or a families well being. I am so excited to have been given the opportunity for my idea to become a reality and this event to be able to take place to raise money for an amazing cause.
If you weren't a pageant girl, what would you want to do?
I have so many ambitions in life and things I want to do. I'd firstly love to do my teaching qualifications to become a dance teacher. This is something I feel I would get so much joy out of to see someone else's progression and be the person responsible for that. Alongside this it's a dream of mine to hold dance and performing arts workshops for children with physical and mental disabilities. This would be extremely rewarding and I have always believed that dance and music can help an individual develop and learn in a new, exciting way regardless of the physical or mental disabilities they may have.
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you?
Most people don't know that growing up aswell as having a love for performing I wanted to be a designer. I loved textiles at school and was lucky enough to do a sewing course over one summer where over time I made quite a few pieces of clothing. I wish now that I had kept this up as something I'd love to do is be able to make my own clothes. I've always been into fashion and keeping up with the latest styles but would've loved to stick at this skill that I loved and have become a designer! It's definitely not the end of this secret passion I have, I will be getting my sewing machine out in no time and getting back to it...besides life is about trying different things and enjoying the different passions you have.
Where do we hope to see you In the next 10 years?
In the next 10 years I hope to be happy and surrounded by my loved ones and friends. I'd love to own my own beautiful house somewhere hot by the beach. I hope you will see me working hard still within the industry a dream would be to have a part in a west end show or on the TV. I want to be known and remembered for my ambition, positivity and enthusiasm and be able to look back and not have any regrets. I would also like to have made a difference in people's lives in some way or another through teaching or charity work.
