The Miss Earth United States Pageant will be held in a few days. How do you feel ?
Up until about a week ago, I was nervous. But, with Miss Earth United States being just a week away, I couldn't be more ecstatic!
I have been waiting for this moment since February, and it is finally here. I am ready to give it my all, put all my hard work to action, and to have the experience of a lifetime.
What was your key motivation for entering the competition?
Having competed in different systems (USA and America), the motivation behind competing has always to gain a sense of confidence and ability to be an empowered woman to make a difference in the world. However, choosing to compete for the Miss Earth United States title is much deeper than that for me. I have finally found an organization that I can truly resonate with, be myself in, and use my voice to inspire those in my community and on a global level to understand the reality of climate change and to encourage them to join me in being an active advocate for the Earth.
We are all unique so what would you say is something that makes you stand out from the other contestants?
You are absolutely right, as human beings, as women, and especially as titleholders, we are all unique in our own way.
Something that makes me unique is that I am self-sufficient. As a child, I had to grow up quicker than most people in order to help my single mother take care of my younger siblings. At fifteen years old, I took it upon myself to get my first job and begin learning the responsibilities of an adult in order to take weight off of my mother. Watching my mother be the strong, independent, and capable woman and mother she was and still is, I have become the same; strong, self-sufficient, and capable.
Which part of the pageant are you most looking for ?
Interview, which is odd, because typically, interview is the part of competition that I am usually most nervous for. But, being able to understand and relate to the ideals and goals of the Miss Earth Organization, I am excited to talk to the judges about my reign, my platform, and why I believe I would make a great Miss Earth United States.
Name five things you can’t live without?
My mom, I am definitely that woman that talks to her mother at least once a day.
My siblings, I love being the oldest of five, it is hands down my favorite thing about my life. Any and everything I do is for my brothers and sisters.
Music, there isn't a day that passes by that I'm not dancing in my living room to music, singing aloud to something in my car, or using a great playlist to make my workouts bearable.
A camera, I'm a person who loves to document everything and to always have a photo to look back on to help me relive my cherished memories.
Chips and queso, haha, no... but really. Chips and queso is my all time go-to food!
Do you have some apprehensions?
In regards to the competition and the title, I have no apprehensions. However, in regards to packing, I have been apprehensive about everything - this is my first national pageants and I am at a total loss as to what I need to pack!
Thanks to the beautiful Sunny for the interview. Pageants News wishes you all the very best for Miss Earth United States 2017 pageant.
