Stephanie is the youngest daughter of lawyer Jesus del Valle and his wife Diana Diaz. She has two older brothers, Gretchen and Omar. She speaks three languages and studies Law and Communication in University in New York.

History of Puerto Rico at Miss World
Puerto Rico debuted in Miss World in 1959, then was absent from 1960 to 1969. The country won the crown in 1975. Wilnelia Merced is the first and to date only Puerto Rican to win the Miss World title. Also, Puerto Rico has produced two 2nd runners-up (2005, 2011) and ten semi-finalists (1976, 1978, 1980, 1985, 2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010), and one quarter-finalist (2012).
