Rebecca Hudson's Fairy Tale Journey From A Small Town Girl To The Miss Universe Great Britain Contest

Beauty queens from small towns are making just the right kind of noise around. They are beautiful, confident and truly determined to achieve their goals in life. The gorgeous Rebecca Hudson, who'll be competing for the crown of Miss Universe Great Britain 2018 later this year, is a small town girl with big aspirations - "I've grown up in a small town and already been able to achieve my dreams of being a professional dancer. I definitely do not get stage fright and I also deal well under pressure and stress" - she explained.

Growing up in the dance world she has dealt with a lot of set backs which has only made her more determined and driven. And this will really help her in the competition!

If she wins the title Rebecca will have the opportunity to represent her country in Miss Universe 2018. Did you know ? Great Britain has never won the Miss Universe title. The closest it could reach was in the year 2013, when Amy Willerton secured the Top 10 spot at Miss Universe 2013 pageant.

I had the opportunity to interview Rebecca on her preparation for the upcoming pageant. Lets know a little more about this beautiful and inspiring woman through this interview!

You will compete at the Miss Universe Great Britain Pageant, how will you prepare the contest ? What unique characteristics would you say you bring to the competition?

Yes and I am so excited already! I feel very fortunate to be a part of one the most prestigious pageants in the world!  I'm going to the gym 5 days a week and following a healthy diet as I want to look my best in the swimsuit round! The finalists also have a pageant training day at the London School of Pageantry in May which I'll be attending to perfect my walks, interview and more.

In the lead up to the pageant we are also raising money for A-sisterhood, an organization which supports, protects and empowers women world wide. I'm going to be doing lots of fundraising events including running 5, 5k runs in 5 days!

What makes me unique is that I've grown up in a small town and already been able to achieve my dreams of being a professional dancer. I definatley do not get stage fright and I also deal well under pressure and stress. Growing up in the dance world I've dealt with a lot of set backs which has only made me more determined and driven! I feel like this will really help me in the competition.

What inspired you to walk on the course of beauty pageants?

This is my first pagaent, I have watched Miss Universe since I was a little girl and always dreamed of being on that stage. I finally plucked up the courage to just go for it and chase after my dreams!

What do you expect to gain by competing in pageantry?

I expect to make life long friends, fundraising for amazing charities, be a voice and role model for all women and hopefully make my dreams come true! I hope that I can empower women to embrace their femininity and not be ashamed for it!

Tell me something about yourself and your work. What do you actually do, and have done in the past?

I've danced since I was 4 years old and moved away from home at age 16 to study 3 years at a full time dance college where I graduated with a diploma in Professional Dance! I learnt a lot from moving away at such a young age and it made me grow up very quickly! I've spent the last 4 and a half years dancing on cruise ships, I've been extremely fortunate to have travelled most of the world whilst doing what I love!

Whats unique about working on cruise ships is that I have been able to learn so much every day about different cultures, history and food habits of 65 different nationalities who work on board.

Social media seem to play a major role in pageantry nowadays. Do you think this is advantageous to you? Why or why not?

In todays society social media can be considered positive and negative for many reasons! However for me personally its been advantageous, I've managed to connect with so many girls who are competing in Miss Universe GB with me and I've followed the journeys of many girls who have competed in Miss Universe through social media. My aim is for girls to see me as a relatable role model and just an average girl!

The reason I entered Miss Universe GB is because of all the amazing queens who inspired me to do so!

What would you advise any young girl out there who has a dream of being a queen one day?

Work hard, never give up and always stay true to yourself!
