Yes, You Can Wear A Crown And Be A Successful Female In a Male Dominated Industry - According To Amanda Larsson-Dally, 2018 Miss California USA Candidate

Gender diversity has increased significantly in the 21st-century workforce as more women have entered the workplace. In some cases, statistics support the notion of evolving gender equality. Other stats show that some work is still necessary to give equal opportunities to men and women across all levels and job types.

Did you know ? In the United States, only 7% of women worked in male-dominated occupations in 2017!

The beautiful Amanda Larsson-Dally, who'll be competing in the Miss California USA Pageant later this year,  is all about breaking stereotypes to set the record straight on so-called pageant girls - "I am not the typical pageant girl that is perusing an acting or modeling career. I feel that I am a good example to young women by showing them you can persue a career and education while wearing a crown and be and be successful in a male dominated industry. I want to show women that they are worth more than what’s on the outside!" she explained.

Amanda is employed by the number one automotive company in the world: Toyota Motors Sales Corporate North America - "I have the most amazing career. I am a vehicle product training specialist in the Los Angeles Region in District 8 (Gold Coast). My day of work consists of travels to dealerships in the central coast area of California where I educate sales consultants about Toyota products. This year has been especially exciting because I got to be a part of the C-HR launch and be apart of the biggest launch in Toyota history with the ALL-New 2018 Camry!"

Prior to her careet with Toyota she was a student at California State University Long Beach where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and a certificate in mediation.

I had the opportunity to interview her on her preparation for the Miss California USA Contest. Lets know a little more about this beautiful and inspiring woman through this interview!

You will compete at the Miss California USA Pageant, how will you prepare for the contest ? What inspired you to walk on the course of beauty pageants?

I will continue living a healthy lifestyle mentally & physically. I will make sure I have all of my wardrobe and styling prepared so I feel confidently beautiful competing on stage, and I will continue volunteering with organizationss like the Jessie Rees Foundation and the Second Harvest Food Bank.

I was inspired to compete to show that pageants aren’t just about what on the outside, but how beautiful one can be on the inside.

What do you expect to gain by competing in pageantry?

I always gain something different each time I compete-whether it be new beauty tips or new friends!

Many misses have said that their dream since a child was to participate in a pageant as prestigious as Miss World (or Miss Universe). It your case? And if so, why?

I would love to compete on the Miss USA stage and advance to the Miss Universe Stage. I have watched the Miss USA pageant since I was young and even watched a Miss USA pageant live-since that moment it has been a dream to compete on the Miss Universe Stage!

Did you face any moment of disappointment with yourself during the pageant journey, and how did you overcome it?

Adversity is something that is inevitable in pageantry and in life-but it is something that makes us stronger, I never let any moment of disappointment set me back or deter me from my dreams!

What would you advise any young girl out there who has a dream of being a queen one day?

Never give up, and never change your values, or morals to reach your goals.
