What inspired you to walk on the course of beauty pageants?
I grew up watching Miss USA and Miss Universe with my mom every year. I remember watching as a little girl and dreaming of being able to walk on that stage. Many successful women in the field I'm going in have competed in pageants. I wanted to do the same to grow from the opportunity and achieve a goal I've had since I was little. This is my first pageant ever, I felt the timing was right and that I was ready to embark on the journey.
Some people say that beauty pageants are degrading to women, same with fashion magazines. How can you convince them that they’re wrong?
If you look at all the contestants you will see they are all hard working women who have a goal for their future. Majority are active volunteers, workers and have completed their degree or are attending school. Pageants have taught me you can have both beauty and brains. There's nothing wrong with expressing your femininity and being confident.
What do you expect to gain by competing in pageantry?
I hope to reach a platform that I can inspire. Pageantry helped me find my confidence and I'd like to help others overcome any obstacles and be someone they can come to for advice.
Thanks to the beautiful Gabriella for the interview. Pageants News wishes you all the very best for Miss Texas USA pageant.
