You won the title of Miss Kemah USA 2017. What does it entail?
Wow, winning Miss Kemah has been the greatest dream of my life. The City of Kemah is the most supportive community and really stands behind their title holders. I was crowned only a short two months ago but it has been a whirlwind since that day. So many great appearances in the beautiful City of Kemah. The day my Teen, Bryn Carden, and I received a proclamation and the key to the city had to be the one of the most special days of my life. Then, the two day Fourth Of July Celebration was so much fun we rode in the Fourth of July Parade and were introduced to the community at a concert. They treat us like celebrity’s and it makes us feel so special. I have spoken at several events about Mental Health Awareness and have continued volunteering within my own community.
You will compete at the Miss Texas USA Pageant. How will you prepare the contest?
Miss Texas USA is Labor Day Weekend, September 1st-3rd and the preparation has been very intense. Along with winning the title Miss Kemah comes a wonderful sponsor package. The makeup lessons, hair lessons and preparation, picking out the perfect competition wardrobe, interview and walking lessons just to name a few have prepared me in such a short time to be the absolute best I can be.
What unique characteristics would you say you bring to the Miss Texas USA competition?
My best characteristic is just being me. I love to make people laugh and seeing people grow and become better each competition. I am a very genuine person and have made lifelong friends in pageants.
What qualities a woman should have to represent a whole nation?
Women should represent themselves with poise and grace; we are role models, leaders and caretakers; we are strong and can be anything we want to be.
Social media seem to play a major role in pageantry nowadays. Do you think this is advantageous to you? Why or why not?
I do not think it is an advantage because I believe every one of us on that stage can be the next Miss Texas. Everything about a pageant should be about you. When I prepare for a pageant I am focusing on presenting the best version of myself. I am not worried about any other contestant because they are not me. My dress will look the same on someone else as it does on me. So, I think it is fun to see everyone getting excited and preparing but I don’t think it’s an advantage.
What inspired you to walk on the course of beauty pageants?
Sharing my story is what has inspired me. Seeing people inspired and knowing I am changing lives is why I continue competing in pageants.
Who is your ideal beauty queen and how has she helped you to evolve as a beauty queen?
Crystle Stewart; she has always inspired me because just like myself she had a lot of obstacles to overcome before she won Miss Texas. Her story has always inspired me to keep working on becoming the best version of myself.
Stewart is a beauty queen from Houston, Texas. She won the Miss USA beauty contest in 2008. She became the ninth Texan to win the Miss USA title.
Thanks to the beautiful Stephanie for the interview. Pageants News wishes you all the very best for Miss Texas USA pageant.
