In 2014 in an effort from Julia Morley, owner of the Miss World Organisation who wanted all national directors to hold a national pageant to select the representative of their country as opposed to only designate, Christopher Wilmer, the organizer of the Miss United States pageant was appointed as the new national director of Miss World in the United States.
As a result, the winner of the 2014 Miss United States pageant was selected to compete at Miss World because she was of the proper age. Beginning in 2015, Wilmer has named the revived selection process Miss World America in order to properly reflect Miss World’s age and contest requirements. The title of Miss United States will continue to be named and managed by Wilmer but will be for ages 20–29 and will not progress to an international competition. So, Priester is not going to compete at Miss World, it will be Victoria Mendoza from Arizona.
