We did it! We have saved the 2015 Miss USA Pageant and their 51 beautiful Contestants. They’re not responsible for Donald Trump. We began a petition to save the sash and the pageant, over 10,000 signatures in one day.
Finally, Reelz will broadcast Miss USA 2015 on July 12, 2015 in Baton Rouge.
The CEO of the cable network, Stan E. Hubbard, released a statement regarding the decision saying:
Whatever you believe about Mr. Trump, NBCUniversal’s decision to NOT air the 2015 Miss USA pageant on July 12 will impact Donald Trump FAR less than it will impact hundreds, if not thousands, of innocent bystanders, including the contestants who have dreamt of this opportunity for months, years, or all their lives.
People have differing opinions of what pageantry is, what pageant girls stand for, and whether or not they’re still relevant in this day and age. But the fans of pageantry, the families of the contestants, and the former titleholders of the Miss USA, Miss Teen USA, and Miss Universe pageants can tell you from personal, first-hand experience that pageants change lives .
