The organizing committee for the Wounded Warriors Weekend in Slave Lake August 1st through 5th are pleased to announce the reigning Miss World, Megan Young, will be joining the Wounded Warriors for the complete weekend’s events. Young, wearing a pearl white gown, bested 126 beauty queens from around the world to become the first Filipina to win the coveted title in a contest broadcast to more than 180 countries worldwide.
Miss Young will be accompanied by Ms Julia Morley , Chairman and Chief Executive of the Miss World Organization. “I have always had a hands-on approach to awareness raising projects” says Ms Morley .”Whether it is housing homeless families across around the world, the health missions to Haiti, or in this instance raising awareness of the challenges faced by our veterans “. “I am most happy and honoured to bring Miss World to this most worthwhile event and especially look forward to personally thanking the Wounded Warriors for making it possible.”
