The reigning Miss World, Rolene Strauss from South Africa, arrived in the Philippines on Tuesday evening along with the Miss World Organization and Miss World CEO, Julia Morley, she was also seen with Miss World Events Director, Steve Douglas. The goal of their trip ? Open a new ward that the Philippines General Hospital in Manila.
In an interview with GMA News, Rolene Strauss said she looked forward to the campaign as she wanted to focus on its health projects.
“I’m really looking forward to that for health is my main passion and I’m really privileged for the opportunity to be able to do what I’m passionate about,” Rolene said in the report.
Her next trip ? Miss World 2014 will leave the Philippines for Sri Lanka on Friday to continue her charity activities for Miss World.
The new Pediatric Hematology – Oncology ward was funded partly by Miss World’s Beauty With A Purpose charity. Rolene Strauss and Julia Morley were joined by Miss World 2013, Megan Young from the Philippines, the reigning Miss World Philippines, Valerie Weigmann, and Miss World Philippines director, Cory Quirino.
