María Gabriela Isler, whose full name is Maria Gabriela de Jesus Isler Morales, was born in the city of Valencia in Venezuela, but since she was a little girl she studied and lived in Maracay. She holds a BA in Management and Marketing. Maria Gabriela, who stands 1.78 m (5 ft 10 in), competed as Miss Guárico, one of 24 finalists in her country’s national beauty pageant Miss Venezuela 2012, held on August 30, 2012 in Caracas, where she obtained the Miss Elegance award and became the ninth Miss Venezuela winner from Guárico, gaining the right to represent her country in Miss Universe 2013. When she was asked during the Interview portion of the pageant what her “biggest fear” was, she replied: “Fear is not negative. We should overcome all our fears and this in turn would make us stronger. As soon as we overcome our fears we can face any challenge.”

Isler’s Hero Is her Mother. Because despite the diversity she and her family faced growing up, her mother stayed strong and taught her that there was always a way to make ends meet.
She has a boyfriend called Alberto Figueroa. Maria Gabriela and her beau Alberto have been dating for two years, his full name is Alberto D. Figueroa Taylor. He studied at Complejo Educativo Colegio Guayamuri.
When she was younger, she had a job wrapping gifts.

With Isler’s win, Venezuela has produced seven victories in the history of the pageant, maintaining its status as the second most successful entity at Miss Universe. Isler’s win also meant that Venezuela has won three crowns in their last six attempts since 2008. The president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, sent her his congratulations via Twitter, proclaiming her victory as a “triumph for Venezuela.”
