Karina Ramos will represent Costa Rica at Miss Universe 2014. Miss Universe 2013 Gabriela Isler will crown her successor during the grand coronation night of 63rd Miss Universe beauty pageant competition.
Previously Karina represented Costa Rica at Miss Supranational 2012 in Plock, Poland. She placed in the Top 20.

Khe was the ambassador of Costa Rica at Miss Belleza Americana 2013, Reina Internacional de la Paz 2013, Reina Internacional de la Ganaderia 2013 and Miss Turismo Latino 2013. Karina Ramos will work in Puerto Rico to be ready for Miss Universe 2014 with Grace Fontech.
Grace Fontecha has worked with women competing in beauty pageants and modeling for more than 30 years. She has trained 27 beauty pageant winners since 1980.
After her crowning as Miss Costa Rica she said “I don’t remember very well what I was thinking,” Ramos told La Nación about the announcement. “I just felt great relief … I threw my head back, I looked upward and said, ‘God, it happened.’”

Costa Ricans have performed particularly well at Miss Universe in recent years, with Johanna Solano being selected for the Top 10 in 2011 and Fabiana Granados earning Top 16 in 2013.
