Hoang-Kim Cung, 24, has won the crown of Miss Nebraska USA 2015. She currently works as a reporter and fill-in anchor for NBC Nebraska, an NBC affiliate in the Lincoln, Hastings, Kearney market. Cung graduated from the University of Texas and majored in broadcast journalism.
Being Miss USA is a lifelong dream of mine, but it’s not the only one.
Hoang-Kim is vietnamese, she is the only member of her family to be born in America and is fluent in the language. Cung is extremely grateful for the sacrifices her family made when they emigrated to America from Vietnam.
Never forgetting her roots, Hoang-Kim helped start a 501c3 Non-Profit Organization and has raised more than $10,000 for wounded veterans.

Being able to speak another language not only benefits all Americans, but also provides a greater sense of unity.
In her spare time, Hoang-Kim is an avid reader, enjoys keeping up with startups and technology, loves photography and interior design. As a Vietnamese girl, Cung said she didn’t see very many faces like hers in the pageants she used to watch with her family. “I always dreamed of being a beauty queen,” Cung said.”It just always seemed so out of reach for me.”
