JUST IN! Hikaru Kawai is Miss World Japan 2014!She will represent Japan at Miss World 2014 this December in UK. Miss World 2014, will be the 64th edition of the Miss World pageant held on December 14 at ExCeL London in London, UK. Megan Young of the Philippines will crown her successor at the end of the event.
The runners-up (equal ranking) from left to right, Mayu Kubota, Hitomi Yoshioka and Eri Yasuda. Hikaru Kawai won the top model award.
Japan had never won Miss World but won Miss Universe for the first time in 1959 with Akiko Kojima.
And for a second time with Riyo Mori, Miss Universe 2007. She achieved the highest score in the swimsuit competition, which advanced her to the top ten and the evening gown competition, in which she placed fourth. Mori’s kimono-inspired black/floral evening gown of choice came from the Spring/Summer 2007 collection of Gucci.
