Delanie Wiedrich was crowned Miss North Dakota 2015 at the end of the pageant this weekend. She will have a few months to prepare for Miss America 2016 in Atlantic City on September 13, 2015, where she hopes to be crowned by the reigning Miss America, Kira Kazantsev from New York.
As Miss North Dakota 2015, Delanie’s activities include public appearances across the state of North Dakota. The beauty queen will receive a $17,500 educational scholarship award from the Miss North Dakota Scholarship Organization for winning the crown.
About Delanie Wiedrich
Entering the state pageant in June 2015 as one of 24 finalists, Wiedrich’s preliminary competition talent was a Broadway-style vocal performance of “Someone Like You” by Adele. Her platform is an anti-bullying campaign dubbed “Beyond the B Word”.
Wiedrich is a student at Minnesota State University, Mankato where she studies theater and dance.
At Minnesota State Mankato this past academic year, Wiedrich played the part of Auntie Remus in “Rabbit Tales,” a children’s theatre touring production primarily for kindergarten through 4th grade students. “Rabbit Tales” was performed by a cast of seven first-year students who toured from mid-January through early March to area elementary schools.
