NBCUniversal, succumbing to pressure from an array of Hispanic groups, is severing its business ties to presidential candidate and owner of the Miss Universe/USA Organization Donald Trump. The Miss USA pageant, scheduled for July 12, will no longer air on NBC. The situation is unfair for 2015 Miss USA Contestants. They were excited to be on national television…
“At NBC, respect and dignity for all people are cornerstones of our values,” the company said in a statement. “Due to the recent derogatory statements by Donald Trump regarding immigrants, NBCUniversal is ending its business relationship with Mr. Trump.”
We are scared for the future editions of Miss USA and Miss Universe. For a lot of fans, Donald Trump should go away from the Miss Universe Organization and sell the pageant to another organization. America’s big networks shouldn’t ignore those pageants.
The pageant isn’t cancelled but it won’t air, it will be held on July 12, 2015. The reigning Miss USA 2014 and Miss Universe 2014 1st runner-up Nia Sanchez of Nevada will crown her successor at the end of the event. Meanwhile, before the ladies hit the stage and compete for the title, photos of the 51 ladies surfaced on the web.
